Nvidia’s rumored RTX 5080 Super may not arrive in January 2027 as previously suggested. Taiwanese tech site Benchlife reports that the launch date remains unclear and that Nvidia’s board partners have not yet received design details for the card. The report says partners had expected that information in October, making a January release unlikely. The product itself has not been confirmed by Nvidia.
The rumored card is said to feature 24GB of video memory. Its potential delay comes as graphics card prices continue to rise. TechSpot’s October 2026 monitoring found substantial month-on-month increases across several GPU models and regions.
The RTX 5080 rose 39% in the US and 40% in Germany over the month. In the US, its reported price reached $2,200, or 120% above Nvidia’s recommended retail price. The card was 40% above its recommended price in the UK, while its average premium globally stood at 77%.
Lower-priced models also saw increases. The RTX 5050 rose 35% in the US, with its price reaching 68% above the recommended level. The RTX 5060 Ti 8GB increased 10% in the UK and 6% in the US; in the UK, it was reported at £440, up from £350 at the start of 2026.
TechSpot’s data also showed rising prices for AMD cards. RX 9060 XT models increased by an average of 10% month-on-month, while the RX 9070 XT rose 10% in the US and 30% in Canada.
With the RTX 5080 already reported at a substantial premium, the rumored Super model had been seen as a possible higher-end alternative. Its uncertain timing offers no immediate relief as price increases extend beyond flagship GPUs to more affordable cards.
