SteelSeries’ Rival Pro is a lightweight wireless gaming mouse built around high polling rates, extensive customization and a battery system designed to keep it in use with minimal interruption. TechRadar’s review found it comfortable and highly responsive, but judged its $179.99 / £169.99 price a significant drawback for gamers who do not need its advanced features.

The mouse weighs 53g and is shaped for right-handed use. The reviewer found it comfortable with palm, claw and fingertip grips, and praised its quick handling. Its matte finish looks and feels good, though the black version can collect fingerprints.

In testing, the Rival Pro delivered precise tracking and responsive movement. Its specifications include a 42,000 DPI sensor, an 8KHz polling rate and optical switches. TechRadar also highlighted SuperSync, which lets users adjust tracking and click polling rates independently, alongside other settings in SteelSeries’ GG app and web app.

A central feature is the replaceable battery setup. The mouse comes with two batteries: one fits inside the mouse while the other charges on the Ultra Wideband base station. When the active battery runs low, users can swap it for the charged one. The review says the exchange takes about five seconds. The mouse has no USB port for wired use; its listed battery life is up to 60 hours at 1K polling or 16 hours at 8K.

The Rival Pro was released in October 2026 and costs $179.99 / £169.99, or about AU$250. TechRadar considers it a strong option for competitive players seeking high performance and near-continuous play, but says less demanding gaming needs may be served by cheaper mice. The review also notes that the optical switches are satisfying but not especially quiet.
