The New York Times’ Connections puzzle for Tuesday, November 3 (game #1241), asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four. The categories range from ways to say “keep going” to items a restaurant server might bring to a table.
The words are CARRY ON, CHECK, ROLLER BAG, INTERVIEW, RESUME, PROFILE, OFFICE CHAIR, FOOD, MENU, SHOPPING CART, CREDIT, CONTINUE, WHELP, TAP WATER, PROCEED and STROLLER.
The groups are: KEEP GOING — CARRY ON, CONTINUE, PROCEED and RESUME; THINGS WITH WHEELS — OFFICE CHAIR, ROLLER BAG, SHOPPING CART and STROLLER; and THINGS A SERVER BRINGS AT A RESTAURANT — CHECK, FOOD, MENU and TAP WATER.
The most cryptic group is ENDING IN MENU BAR HEADINGS: CREDIT, INTERVIEW, PROFILE and WHELP. Each ends with a word associated with a computer menu bar: edit, view, file and help, respectively.
Connections challenges players to find four sets of related words, with each group assigned a different difficulty color. Players can make up to four mistakes, and the game is available free on the New York Times Games website for desktop and mobile.
