Best Buy has cut the price of the barebones Minisforum AI X1 Pro-470 to $727, down from $909. That is below Amazon’s listed price of $759, according to the supplied deal information.
The mini PC earned 4.5 stars in a review, which praised its full-metal construction, AI performance and upgrade options. It is built around a 12-core AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 processor with Radeon 890M integrated graphics, and has two DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 128GB of memory, three M.2 SSD slots and an OCuLink port for connecting an external graphics card. Other listed connections include two USB4 ports, DisplayPort 2.0 and dual 2.5G Ethernet.
The sale model does not include memory, storage or an operating system, so it is not ready to use straight out of the box. The review also found that using a single memory module reduced GPU performance, recommending two matching modules instead. Buyers who need a complete system can find a 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD configuration listed at $1,327 at both Best Buy and Amazon.
The barebones deal may suit users who already have compatible components or want to choose their own memory and storage. Those needing to buy everything separately should factor the added cost into the purchase; the supplied article notes that RAM and SSDs can add several hundred dollars to the total.
