The Hisense UR9 is a showcase for RGB Mini-LED technology, offering a wider range of colors than conventional Mini-LED TVs, along with high brightness and strong color accuracy. It also supports refresh rates up to 180Hz, making it a capable option for gaming. But the technology comes at a premium, and the TV still shows some blooming around bright objects.

In testing, the UR9 covered 99.8% of the UHDA-P3 color gamut and 93.1% of BT.2020 in Filmmaker Mode. Its HDR brightness reached 4,370 nits in a 10% window and about 1,100 nits across the full screen in that mode. The picture was bright, smooth during fast-moving scenes and detailed, though the reviewer found the screen could be very bright. RGB lighting also creates some cross-talk between pixels, producing a visible halo in certain scenes.

The TV includes Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Vision 2, as well as HDR10, HDR10+ Adaptive and HLG support. Other features include Google TV, Wi-Fi 6E, Apple HomeKit compatibility, Amazon Alexa, Google Cast and far-field voice control. Google Gemini allows hands-free, conversational commands, but the review found it could provide incorrect information or fail to carry out requests. The TV also offers AI-powered picture tools and the option to create AI artwork for its screensaver.

Gaming features include AMD FreeSync and HDMI 2.1 connections supporting 4K at up to 180Hz. The UR9 has three HDMI ports, one with eARC, plus a USB-C port with DisplayPort support. Its built-in sound system is rated at up to 110 watts and provides virtualized spatial audio; the review described its sound as good for a TV, though adding a subwoofer or external speakers would better suit a home-theater setup.

The UR9 launched in April 2026 in 65-, 75-, 85- and 100-inch sizes, with the 100-inch model available only in the US. Prices vary by size and retailer, and the review notes that discounts can bring them down substantially. Even at reduced prices, the UR9 remains a costly way to adopt RGB LED technology, with the reviewer concluding that its picture performance is impressive but does not offer the same value as similarly priced QLED or Mini-LED alternatives.
