Corsair has cut $180 from the price of its MP700 Pro SE 4TB SSD, bringing it to $579. The drive offers PCIe Gen 5 storage speeds and is described by the source as the cheapest 4TB Gen 5 SSD currently on the market.
The discounted price works out to about 14.5 cents per gigabyte. Corsair rates the MP700 Pro SE for sequential read speeds of up to 14,000MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 12,000MB/s.
The Pro SE builds on the MP700 Pro, with changes to its controller and flash intended to deliver higher performance. The 4TB model includes 8GB of LPDDR4 DRAM, compared with 4GB in the 2TB version, and comes with a five-year warranty. The source says the drive launched at around $650.
Tom’s Hardware gave the SSD 4.5 stars and an Editor’s Choice award, citing its overall performance and sustained write speeds. The source also notes that the current deal is cheaper than some slower Gen 4 alternatives, though it does not provide further details about those products.
